Panasonic® moving towards philanthropy
The time has surely changed. Corporate giants are not only focusing on ways to generate maximum profits and take their organizations to newer heights, but are also lending their help for social causes. MNCs and other big corporations are working for various causes and also playing their role well to make this world a better place to live.
Japanese MNC Panasonic has also geared up to handle its corporate social responsibility (CSR). Their area of interest is disaster management and the corporation is planning to collect the so-called “Messages Of Hope” from around the world and encourage children in the areas of disaster. All this is chiefly done in support of recovery from the earthquake that destroyed Japan.
Panasonic is planning to collect these messages, which will be known as "Messages Of Hope" from around the world through December 31st. These messages will be presented along with the juvenile cherry trees in the 2012 spring at the Tohoku region.
Panasonic has incorporated extremely creative ideas to present these messages. The messages will be also posted on social networking websites -Facebook and Twitter. The presentation on website is also extremely attractive, where the message will be displayed as a cherry flower on the cherry tree (sakura) till the time it’s in full bloom. Post the full blooming of the message, its tapestries and posters will be presented along with young cherry trees to the children of disaster-hit areas.
What’s more, the Panasonic website also comprises of “Panasonic Sakura” apps in the Panasonic news portal Facebook page. You can even use the apps to post your message.
Let’s see how far this movement will help the disaster-affected people or it will just be a medium to earn brownie points.
