Panasonic and the UNESCO World Heritage Center have released the 2012 World Heritage Calendar on the Internet in five different languages.
The calendar is now available as a website, a wallpaper, and a separate application that can be downloaded online. The World Heritage Convention was established in 1972 and as the organization will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year, the latest calendar is expected to generate more curiosity than the one released last year.
The online version has especially been released with the aim of enlightening the youth and there will be more additions to the application in the near future.
When you surf the Internet to see the World Heritage Calendar, the 12 different months of the year will appear along with spectacular pictures of 12 different World Heritage Sites. There will be meaningful information along with some interesting trivia in English, Japanese, French, Chinese, and Spanish.
Taking into account the large number of gamers that are now present the world over, the calendar makers have even introduced a game wherein one has to match sites with their related illustrations on a world map. Panasonic Corporation is a globally renowned manufacturer of electronic goods, which the company produces for general consumers as well as different businesses and industries.
A place enters the list of World Heritage Sites when it is of cultural or physical importance and is seen in such a light by UNESCO. It need not be a historical monument alone. UNESCO World Heritage Sites comprise forest, mountain, lake, desert, and even an entire city.
