Panasonic® LUMIX AWARD 2011 launched
It is time to take your digital camera out of the box and roll up your sleeves. LUMIX AWARD 2011 competition has begun. The Panasonic LUMIX AWARD contest is held every year, exhibiting brilliant pictures taken by amateur and semi-professional digital photographers. The competition took off for the first time in 2003, and is aimed at a digital quality as good as the 35mm photography, ever since.
Each year, Panasonic LUMIX AWARD competition has a dedicated theme. Based on the theme, the photographers from around the world are invited to submit real-life stills taken by digital cameras. This year’s theme is ‘Life is a Stage’. The themes that have been featured in the competition since 2003 are – Man and machine, Perfect place, Everyday adventure, Same sights – different views, Capture your culture, Living planet, Visualize music, and Work.Life.
The contestants can register themselves on the LUMIX AWARD website and upload one photo per month, between October 2011 and March 2012. Visitors to the website can vote for the favorite pictures of the month. The most voted photos would be then passed on to the jury for selecting the winners. There would be three winners at the end of competition and apart from this, each month; the panel of judges would also decide ‘the best picture of the month’. The jury consists of famous personalities Robert Grischek (professional photographer), Sodja Zupanc Lotker (artistic director), and Enrico Martino (Italian photojournalist). The first prize is Panasonic LUMIX GF3 digital camera with LUMIX G X VARIO 14-44mm Power Zoom lens. The second prize is Panasonic LUMIX TZ20 digital camera with full HD AVCHD movie recording and built-in GPS. The third prize is the 12.1 megapixels Panasonic LUMIX FT3 – a shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof – digital camera. The monthly winner shall receive the high-quality ’Plexiglas’ print of his winning photo (of that month).
The photo, making to the first place, would also be displayed on the European stage in a Panasonic event next year. The final winners have to be declared on 31 May 2012.
