Panasonic® extends U.S. Soccer Sponsorship
Don’t be surprised if you see Panasonic products and banners everywhere in the stadium while watching a major US soccer match. The stadium is going to be flooded with the blue Panasonic banners because it is now the "official consumer electronics partner" of the U.S. Soccer, its governing body, and the U.S. men's and women's soccer teams. Panasonic will also renew the same designations for the agreement with Major League Soccer (MLS), which is the top-flight U.S. professional soccer league with 18 member clubs that include the famous Red Bulls.
Panasonic, who has been a U.S. soccer supporter for nearly 10 years, will place this agreement for three years that will continue through the 2014 World Cup tournament and through the end of the 2014 MLS season. "Panasonic is proud to extend our sponsorship of Major League Soccer and to expand our horizons to support the U.S. Soccer Federation and the men's and women's national teams," said Joe Taylor, chairman and CEO of Panasonic Corporation of North America. Even MLS is looking forward to this agreement as Panasonic has been an important partner for almost a decade. "They have been at the forefront of development during the opening of new soccer-specific stadiums, many of which feature great Panasonic technology." said Kathy Carter, President of Soccer United Marketing, MLS marketing arm.
The sponsorship will entitle Panasonic with ‘category exclusivity’ at U.S. Soccer and MLS properties for a wide range of products. These products include HDTVs, Blu-ray Discs, cameras and camcorders, LED signage and television products, mobile and tablet computers, and loads of other personal care products. The famous Red Bull Arena has also chosen Panasonic as a technology partner, which will use its products for digital scoreboard displays, video displays, and plasma televisions.
This definitely looks like a perfect partnership for Panasonic and U.S. Soccer. Panasonic has a good opportunity to connect the fans with the game in a better way through its latest technology. So, let’s wait and see what Panasonic can do this time to take the game of soccer to new levels of sports entertainment.
