The new line of mid-sized Android-based tablets from Panasonic will feature Mocana’s end-to-end encryption platform for information security software called VeloDAR. The new Panasonic BizPad tablet models will be introduced in 7-inch and 10-inch versions. VeloDAR Encryption software is the industry’s most advanced data-at-rest encryption solution for Android platform.
Both the tablets feature Honeycomb 3.2 and are suitable for corporate environments by featuring shock-, dust-, and water-resistance. According to Panasonic, the 10-inch BizPad model can absorb water drops from a height of 80 cm, while the smaller 7-inch BizPad model can handle 120 cm drops. In addition to this, both the tabs feature an NFC reader, a replaceable battery, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, USB port, GPS, microSD slot, a ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core CPU, 1 GB memory, 16 GB flash, and infrared support.
Though Android platform comes with its own built-in encryption options, the VeloDAR encryption will further offer it an FIPS 140-2 level 1 certified encryption engine with AES-CBC 128-bit or AES-XTS 256 bit cryptography options for maximum security and integrity.
